The Instant Pot® sealing ring is an integral part of the Instant Pot® safety mechanism. It is designed, developed, and manufactured using the optimal material to achieve the hardness and strength required to withstand the high pressure forces of electric pressure cooking.
Instant Pot® sealing rings are tested and approved by UL, FDA, and LFGB for safety, including food safety. To ensure your Instant Pot® continues to perform as intended, use only authentic Instant Pot® sealing rings with your Instant Pot® appliance.
It's recommended to replace your Instant Pot® sealing ring every 12–18 months. However, the sealing ring is porous and can absorb odors and discolor. To prevent discoloration and odors, consider replacing the sealing ring every 6–12 months.
Note: Using third-party sealing rings may have unexpected effects on your product and will void the Instant Pot® warranty.
