Ultimate Steak Sandwich with Crispy Onion Rings

Ingredients
Crispy onion rings
- 2 small onions, thinly sliced
- 50 g flour
- 1 tsp garlic powder
Sauce
- 15 g grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 2 tbsp natural yoghurt
Sandwich
- 400 g steak
- 60 g rocket (arugula)
- Focaccia, halved
- Oil, salt, and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Separate the onion slices into rings and discard the small inner cores. Toss with a little oil to lightly coat.
- Mix the flour and garlic powder. Toss the onion rings in the mixture until thinly coated.
- Air-fry at 120 °C for 20 minutes, shaking halfway, until light golden and crisp. (They will crisp further as they cool.)
- Meanwhile, combine all sauce ingredients in a bowl.
- Rub the steak with oil and season with salt and pepper. Air-fry at 205 °C for about 8 minutes for medium-rare (cook longer if you prefer it more done). Let rest for 2 minutes, then slice.
- Assemble the sandwich: spread the sauce generously on the focaccia, add the sliced steak, rocket (arugula), and crispy onions. Serve immediately.
